This tensile fabric structure shades The Wharf At Point Loma promenade in San Diego. The property includes restaurants, retail stores, and the America’s Cup Harbor marina.
We designed the curved posts with the nautical theme of sailing ships. Their footings measure 10’x6’ and are 30” deep.
Two tensile fabrics of HDPE shade cloth extend between these three posts and connect to the building. Being on the waterfront, the structure withstands 110 MPH wind with the fabrics attached.
As the design, manufacturing, and building contractor, Shade Comforts assumed turnkey responsibility for the tensile fabric structure’s design, engineering, fabrication, and construction.
